Enchantment

How to enchant equipment and what it changes.

Enchantment adds levels from +1 to +15 to a copy of equipment. Weapons gain attack bonuses; armor and shields gain defense, including the corresponding magical attributes when present on the piece.

Choose the correct scroll

The scroll's type and grade must match the piece. A weapon scroll cannot enchant armor, and a scroll of a different grade is also incompatible. Check scroll sources in the catalog or Borin's crafting service.

Chances and failure

  • Up to +3, standard enchantment is guaranteed.
  • Reaching +4, +5 or +6 has a 66% chance.
  • Reaching +7, +8 or +9 has a 50% chance.
  • Reaching +10 through +15 has a 33% chance.

With standard scrolls, failure consumes the scroll and resets enchantment to +3, preserving the piece, its SA and its Augment. Check the rule shown on the scroll before attempting an enchantment.

Appearance

Glow begins at +4. Weapons and shields gain progressive effects; clothing and sets have their own presentation. The glow does not change grade or add a separate bonus beyond the enchantment attributes.
