How do I earn my first companions?

In the development version, Maera introduces Brasa, the wolf pup, in A Friend on the Trails, from level 3 and after Gremlin Blood. Lia offers Castanho, the horse, in A Rest for the Hooves, from level 5. New characters start without a pet or mount.

Do pets and mounts affect gameplay?

Yes. Brasa grants 10 maximum health. At pet level 1, its ability heals 20 HP with a 30-second cooldown; the healing increases as it levels up. Castanho offers different travel speeds. Each companion follows its own rules, and pet healing is disabled in the Olympics.

Does Brasa evolve into a mount?

Brasa is a pet, and Castanho is a mount earned through a different quest. Each has its own role in your character's journey.

Companions & Mounts

The journey begins without a pet or mount. On Aldoron's trails, Maera introduces Brasa, a wolf cub; Lia teaches you to care for horses and offers Castanho's quest. Companions and mounts have their own roles: some follow the hero with bonuses and skills, while others accompany your travels across the continent.

Wolf Pup

Brasa

Maera's quest A Friend on the Trails introduces Brasa from level 3. The pup follows your hero, grants additional health and has a healing ability.

Travel Horse

Castanho

From level 5, Lia offers A Rest for the Hooves at the Trail Stables. Caring for the horses and delivering hay lets you earn Castanho as a mount.

Flying Companion

Raven

The catalog also includes an animated raven with Restorative Caw. Its healing has its own cooldown; companion healing abilities are disabled in the Olympics.

Castanho · Along Valtheron's Roads

Walk, trot and gallop change the pace of travel. Your character mounts, dismounts and follows the roads using keyboard, mouse or touch controls. The mount is earned separately through Lia's quest.

Company for the Journey

The bond begins in quests and continues during exploration. Choose a companion from your collection and learn its skill; when traveling, use a mount you have earned. The captures below show Brasa and riding in the development version.

Meet the people of Aldoron and complete the quests that introduce your first companions.

2. ChooseCompanion

Browse your collection and select the pet that will accompany your hero, with its attributes and ability.

3. TravelMount

Once you have earned Castanho, mount up and choose between walking, trotting and galloping along the trails.

Brasa and Castanho are rewards from different quests.
Companions have their own rules for bonuses and abilities.
Mounts have travel controls and restrictions during combat.
